View Full Version : Dolphins May Be Able To Change Human DNA

Make no mistake about it, our flippered friends are special indeed!
<B>Dolphins may have the power to alter our DNA and switch our genes "on" and "off" to help us heal.</B>
<QUOTE>That's the fishy claim of dolphin researcher Dr. Michael Hyson, who says that the mammals can generate sound and electromagnetic fields that can have a positive effect on human DNA to help treat diseases like autism, cerebral palsy and depression.
Although Hyson can't explain how dolphins know which genes to turn "on" and "off" to treat humans and admits "it's a hypothesis," he claims dolphins have treated humans this way for thousands of years.
In fact, he says a dolphin helped him heal a couple of painful dislocated vertebrae by sending "sonar pulses" towards him when he was swimming with the creature.
While there have been a few cases of Adolph Hitler-type Flippers who hurt humans instead of helping them, Hyson insists this is very rare.

that is interesting expecaly after seeing a tv show on discovery (ibelive or it could of been Animal planet) about dolpens killing their young and pilot whales by locating them with there sonar then smashing into the sides of the victom launching it out of the water.
they never did figure out why the dolphens where attacking the others
dophins are strange creatures if they had thumbs and could stop having sex just for fun they would be the top of the world Not us

What makes you think they aren't on the top of the world. You don't see anyone complaining about "tuna-safe" tuna. **** tuna, nobody cares, it's always dolphins this and dolphins that. Oh well, so long and thanks for all the fish.

Dolphins are not fish. I swam with dolphins around this time last year. It was a great experience. They were very smart and playful, and I even kissed one right on the mouth.
You still need to be careful around them though, especially in the wild. They will nip you or flick you with their tails, usually to them they are just playing. I was swimming in New Jersey around a year and a half ago, and a whole school of dolphins swam by. Very cool!

I said so long and thanks for all the fish as a reference to what the dolphins say in Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Surprised you wouldn't know anything about that Willie. But I knew what Agent M was saying, and I also figured he probably just saw the movie, instead of being a big fan of the books like I was. Duoshoe, spelling and grammar please.
As for the dolphins, I saw something similar to what you're talking about on tv once. Dolphins are smart, but we're the dominant species for sure, unless you believe people that think aliens secretly control Earth.

Spelling and grammar are of little importance here, it is the exchange of ideas that I hold of high import. It would be great if everyone spoke perfect English (or rather wrote) but its not really reasonable to expect that everyone will. However I will concede that it does make communication easier if we use proper grammar, etc... meh, I have said all I want to on the subject.
Thanks for all the fish...
:lol I have heard the phrase before, I suppose my humor was lost somewhere in the translation. :o

It's okay, I understood everything you had typed and that's the important part. I think it was mainly the misspelled words and lack of punctuation that was the problem, but I won't rag on you. If you need help in English though, feel free to let me know because that's my favorite subject.

You're right, I only saw the movie, I thought it was really good, but not good enough to read the book.

Once again, my powers of deduction save the day. The book is better than the movie. I was actually disappointed watching it. The first half of the movie is exactly like the book more or less, the other half is something altogether different. The musical number of "So long and thanks for all the fish" was weird, but still a little funny.
My favorite scene in the whole thing was when Arthur and Slartibartfast went flying out on that track through outerspace and saw the planets being built and you could see Arthur's eye water up. So touching. I also liked the extra beginning with the opening title and music from the BBC version, that should have been the first time they showed the title instead of showing it twice. Dolphins don't control the world though and neither do mice. I'm pretty sure with all the weird stuff we do to them, we're doing the experiments.
