Well at LEAST the Bermuda Triangle of South Australia. Iv'e decided to share one or two of my Braddock Park stories, I am thinking of either picking one story, or using many to intertwine to write a novel.

For those that havent seen my previous posts on the topic, Braddock Park is basically a front for paranormal activity in my town. (Port Augusta, South Australia). Looking down on a map of my town you would see a square shaped town, but a good 30% of it is bushland, and it's all situated dead in the center. Now I lived in this town all my life, and as long as I can remember Iv'e always felt a little wierd about Braddock park, even though I didn't actually experience anything paranormal untill 1994, when I was 14.

This is it, the first unexplained thing from Braddock Park:

Scince I was 11 years old I have been kickboxing, I'm almost 24 now, and I still do it. But the only Gym with classes (which I now teach rather than attend) is the one in Braddock Park. It's a vey old building and although it's visable from the west side of the park, it's still in the park, hence wierd stuff thill happens there.

I was at kickboxing, most of the guys there I knew from school and it was around 9pm, give or take 20 minutes. The lesson was over and it was a no fight night, so we were just hanging out, playing basketball to be exact. The problem being there was only a half court in the old Gym so were using the outside one.

I'll give a quick explanation of the people there (although I wont use last names) Braden and Greg, they are brothers, they look basically the same, blonde crew-vuts and freckles, Greg was almost 2 years older but he was quite a bit shorter. John, actually my cousin, tall easy going guy. Simon (aka Simo) didn't know us that well, only Greg, he was a nerdy guy with glasses (I don't know him anymore). And Deek, a big stoner, I didn't like him that much, but Iv'e never liked anyone associated with drugs. (I don't know him anymore either.)

Anyway we were playing basketball when John notices that Deeks been gone for a long time. Greg tells him Deek went for a smoke (regular smoke not his stash, lol). So we keep playing, but now that John had mentioned it I noticed him gone too, and was noticing it more by the minute. Now like I said, I didn't like Deek, nobody liked Deek, but I was hoping nothing had happened, this went on for about an hour and still no Deek. We decided to look for him, this was at about 10:30, his car was still out on the street, and we knew he wouldn't have walked the streets alone, not at night. We walked into the park a little ways and started yelling for him, but didn't get a response. No one had a watch, the clock I was using to tell the time was in the Gym, so I can only estimate the times. But i think it first happened at about 11 - 11:30, we saw 2 lights at ground level, that looked like headlight for a car, only a little dimmer. I'd say they wern't far ahead of us but no one could figure out what they were. No car can drive in Braddock Park, the Trees and Bushland are to thick, and if they were flashlights, they were moving together perfectly, staying the same distance apart as they moved. John said to move towards them thinking they were other people, (we only had the one flashlight), so we moved towards the lights, but they always seemed to be the same distance away.

At around midnight (maybe a little earlier) we heard laughter, it sounded like childrens laughter, but with an older woman laughing with them. Most of the guys with me just got confused, but a few (including me) being the paranoid ones were scared out of our skins. We stopped looking for Deek for about 10 minutes, while we stood there listening to the laughter, although it sounded distant and quiet, when it suddenly stopped, and we heard and extreamly loud bang, like a car or a motorbike backfiring, then a series of quiter bangs, maybe 10 - 15 of them. Then we heard Deek yelling "What the F**k!?!?" he sounded far off, we ran towards where his voice came from, and ended up back near the Gym, we found him putting out a ciggerette. When he saw us he asked "Did you guys hear that?" We asked him where the hell he had been, and that we had been looking for hours. He told us he'd only been gone for like 30 mins, for a quick walk and a smoke. After we told him the time, and the rest of our story he told us to "Get f**ked" and walked off to his car, then he drove off.

That's pretty much it, Iv'e never been able to explain what happened, no matter how many times Iv'e gone over it in my head. All I can say is that something that night had me really spooked, and that was long before the freaky stuff happened, and that stuff is pretty weak compared to the other things that have hapened at Braddock Park, I'll post more later.

I'm guessing he was high.

I already stated in the story he wasn't (which is rare). We are also talking about a guy who was HUGE, and who had been doing dope scince he was like 12, (he was 17 at the time). Even if he managed to get some dope, (which by the way only mellows people out so to speak, and is certianly not a halucinagen) it would take a hell of a lot to intoxicate this guy to the extent of being "High" and although I dont approve of any drugs, marijiuana would hardly cause someone to pass out or halucinate, especially for 2 - 3 hours. I might also add that upon finding him he acted as his normal self (well not really because hes NORMALLY on the dope).

Thats really a great story. Have you ever gone back at night? Maybe with a tape recorder and a camera, to try and record some of this stuff?

I have gone back at night, and I think I will more often now that I'm more into that kinda thing. But now that you mention it a tape recorder or camera would be a good Idea, but I don't own either, I guess I'll have to cough up some dosh. (dosh being Australian slang for money.)

Yeah, digital cameras are great. But you could even get a little tape recorder pretty cheap. It would be really something to hear those voices. Did you ever read the article on my site, "A Really Strange Phone Call"? I really think it was something like the mothman that left that message for me...
