Egyptian Calendar/2012

Just thinking and can't seem to get past the idea that we are going by the wrong calendar to decipher the timeline for 2012. I have not decided one way or another (I want to remain flexible) which date I resonate with yet. But if we do several of the supposed dates we could ideally come up with some closer approximations. I have not had the time to really investigate this matter and ask your help in finding information that can give us some awnsers. Thanks I know someone here is an expert on Egypt and the Gregorian Calendars.

That is a beautiful reply Rabid, thankyou. What though is the actual date in gregorian of the supposed end times? I mean, the dates are different, like december can be january...What would the date in myan calendar be in gregorian? Thanks antarrishu

I am not sure I can adequately say enough to make total sense but I will quote the information from that page that is mentioning the gregorian scale.

In our modern calendar, called the Gregorian Calendar, we have days, weeks, months and years. In the Mayan Calendar it's more complex. In fact, it's really three calendars. First there's a religious calendar that takes 260 days to complete a full religious cycle. There are 20 "weeks" made up of 13 days. Each week has a special name, a graphic logo and unique meaning associated with it. This rather reminds me of the Chinese years which cycle through "the year of the rat" and "the year of the monkey," etc., each with it's special image and meaning.

Next there is the solar calendar. This has 365 days, like our modern calendar. It's divided in 18 months of 20 days each. At the end of the cycle there's five special days considered to be unlucky because they don't belong to any month. Each of the months has a special name, graphic logo and some special significance.

So it is possible, for any specific date, the calculate the religious week and the solar month and to predict the influences that might be guiding fate. But that's not really what's involved with the prophecy of 2012. To understand that we must look at the third calendar, called the "long count."

While the first two cycles could be thought of as cogs or gears, revolving through time, the long count is a linear number of days, starting from the first day, "1," and counting through each day to the present. Any day in history can be recorded using the long count and, with some fancy mathematics, the corresponding religious week and solar month can also be found.

In writing this article, I thought about creating a javascript program that would do this calculation. My friend, Gene Matlock, then told me that when he was in Mexico, he found a place that sold wooden, mechanical calculators with gears that did just that. He said that Mexicans sometimes used these mechanical calendars to foretell the future or to find auspicious times for special events like marriage or births. Anyway, although it might be nice to know the religious and solar significance, it's the long count that foretells Doomsday.

The days of the long count are numbered with an unusual system. Instead of writing numbers as we do, from right to left with each place being a multiple of 10 (i.e. 10000, 1000, 100, 10, 1), the Mayans had only 5 places.

The first place recorded a number from 0 to 20. To the left, the second place could have a range from 0 to 17; the third from 0 to 19; the fourth from 0 to 19 and the last from 0 to 12. The numbers were written from right to left, like our system, separated by a dot. Instead of multiples of 10, the first place had a multiple of 1 (like our system); the second place a multiple of 20; the third a multiple of 360; the fourth a multiple of 7200 and the fifth a multiple of 144000.

So a long count number, for example, could be written as 4.12.5.9.0 and would be calculated as follows:

(4 x 144000) + (12 x 7200) + (5 x 360) + (9 x 20) + (0 x 1) or a long count of 145980.

It's not too difficult to realize that the maximum number which can be recorded this way would be 12.19.19.17.20, although some researchers like to write it as 13.0.0.0.0. This amounts to a long count number of 1,872,000 days or 5125.36 years of our modern calculations. Obviously, the calendar is very old!

Over the years, archaeologists have found carved monuments that recorded the long count for known dates in Mayan history. Once a date was fixed in time, it was easy to determine the "day 1" as August 11th, 3114 BC. And it was also easy to calculate the date at which the calendar would end -- December 21st, 2012.


When he states December 21, 2012 he is meaning gregorian I believe.

Hi Green, you know I think it already has begun. There is some significance to the date 2012, however it could end up feeling like Y@K by the time it is over. Notice how the changes all around us remain undetected by most, but the diligent watchers that fight for the light and the truth. I would say to have your shit together by the year 2012 to say the least. The basics like know your area, have at least 5 people within a hundred mile radius that you trust with your life, have your seeds fresh and stored, Have your water purification system ready (tabs and homemade distillers)and know how to improvise.It feels really secure to have studied these survival tips and to know that you have the ability to know what to do in an emergency. Once you have done all you can then it will not be such a dream state if say for instance nuks go off and you find yourself still alive.I am not implying that is what this all means, but my advice prepare for anything. Water and seeds are my #1 priority. Many guys I know say that will do you no good if you are not prepared to protect and defend what you have.

There is no need to panic. I don't know how much you guys have been studying, but it is'nt exactly they end of the world or anything. This is called cosmic evolution. It has happened once and will happen many more times to come. We are now entering the age of the aquarius. This can mean apocolyptic, or world peace. It can go either way. From the looks of it today it doesn't look like peace, but there are things you can do. Don't purify your water or store up on food. It's much more than that. The goverment thought it was a bad thing and used chemtrails to stop it, but all it did was slow down the process. The end date of the mayan prophecy is December 21 2012. On that day the sun will allign with the galaxies center. It is at this time that we will experience the difference. When we were stripped of our 12 strand dna we were taken from the fifth dimension and put into the 3rd. Which is the physical plane. Right now we are passing through the fourth dimension which is time. So if you want to live when this end date comes. Then you need to return to nature. That means don't rely on material goods so much. you are only attaching yourself to this dimension which will make it more difficult to ascend. The planet wont ascend like many believe, but instead it is up to you. Don't expect that you will just move on on this date. You have to make the choice and change now. Here is some science behind what I know. When we allign with the galaxy which some beleive to be a black hole. It will send a gravity wave towards us and will create earthquakes and tsunamis. Combine that with global wrming and you get alot of flooding. Sounds like noah's arc don't it. I am telling you now this is very real. Along with that the sun and earth are going to reverse polarization. That will change alot of things from CME's to volcanic activity all simultaneously. I know starting to sound like a bunch of bull, but it's real. It been proven. The sun will reverse polarization sometime around 2012. Ask nasa. If you have any questions at all. I will answer them. Hey Ockham, just wanted to tell you that I found out that the true Mayan date for the mayan calandar is actually 10/28/11. I cant site my claim right now but will try to get back to you on this. Remember I asked for help on a hunch that I had about the dates being off? Well I may be grasping straws here but think there could be something to this. If thats true by dec. things could be really different already.

Do explain Rishu. I ended up doing alot of research on the topic after reading this forum, I already knew of 2012 but didn't understand the mechanics behind it. Eventually I became so involved I actually learned to convert the Gregorian calender to Mayan and vise versa. So 10/28/11?

Maybe it means we will stop a certain way of thinking. We could become more open to the thought of things such as, oh, i donno, aliens. I personally think we'll just open up to other concepts and ideas that weren't accepted in the past. Other things like, we have more power than we think we do. It is said that we only use a portion of our brains. what if we use that substantial portion of our brains to tell ourselves we don't actually use it all?

maybe the government will even start to open up to the fact that, yes, aliens do in fact exist, and yes, have made multiple attempts to contact us. Actually, there haven't been attempts. They have been successful. Sorry I don't have sources right now. I'll dig them up another day when I have more time and/or motivation.

That became more of a rant than I wanted it to. But ah well. All's well that ends well.

Nice post Cel, I agree the time is far past that we as a human race begin to open ourselves to communication with E.Ts. I believe that it has already been accompllished many years before as far as the Gov. is concerned. Have you read WOS's alien page?
