Do you think time travel is possible? And if so (or not) do you think the universe prevents paradoxes from occurring? For example, could you go back and kill yourself as a child, therefore not existing as an adult. But if you never grew up from childhood, how could you have gone back and killed yourself? What are your thoughts?

Time and Matter are the 2 governing forces in the universe.

Time travel in my oppinion IS possible, time is just like matter really, we can control matter to some extent, but we have no control over time - it has different laws.

I do however think that time travel should not be used.

I am a believer in the chaos effect, everything is linked (and it is) if you went back in time, and shifted a rock, then came back, the world would be completely different.

If you just WENT BACK IN TIME, and did NOTHING, then game back, the world would still be completely different, just because you stood on the grass, or you breathed the air, or just because you were THERE.

If someone went back in time say 100 years, none of us here today would exist, think about it, we were one in a billion sperm at some stage, if a slight thing changed, that one sperm containing our genetic information and stucture wouldn't have been the one to fertalize the egg, we wouldnt exist, and that is a scary thaught.

Time travel is not possible yet. It may be in the very distant future. There was one story I heard where someone dissapeared and was thought to have fallin into a warp in time. I'll tell you the story if you want, but my opinion would be kidnap or runaway.

I put a big fat NO only because I don't believe the time space continuum can be broken or surpassed. I spent a lot of time thinking 'bout this throughout my life, as short as it might be. But don't take my word on it. If it were possible, then I think it still will effect whatevers next. The Ripple Effect as I heard somewhere, not sure where.

I have read theories that it may be possible to travel through time using worm holes, however it is still almost impossible. And I just cant get past the fact that there would be paradoxes. A famous one goes like this: If you took off from your spaceship, and came back in time to 5 minutes before you took off, you would meet yourself 5 minutes before you took off. In fact, there would instantly be an infinity of you coming back to meet you, as the process is really a type of loop. You take off, and you come back 5 minutes earlier, and keep repeating.

Of course theoretically, if you could travel faster than light, you would travel backwards in time. Yet, there is another problem there to. If you are flying your ship faster than light, and start traveling backwards, you are actually traveling to the source of your departure. So you cant do that either, unless you could just keep flying straight while the clocks start rolling back.

That's the most confusing thing I have read since reading Surbrosa's curse.

Okie Dokie... listen up:
Albert Einstien clearely stated that time traved isn't possible, but time viewing is very possible.

If you could create a convex (might be concave, that part of the theroy i am un sure of) lens with a deep enough curve,

you could look around the world and see your self in the future looking through the lens or whatever you will be doing at that time.

**just don't quote me on that, look it up for yourself to check if you really want to know that badly :) **
